The W.O.W. Factor this week is “ZONING”
Zoning is when you attain a higher level of consciousness or energy that allows you to be all that you can be in that particular moment. Another word for zoning is “flow”. To be in flow takes practice, preparation and or a set up. To prepare yourself for a zoning experience we must prepare the soil of the heart or mind for flight by being; calm, centered, prayed up, balanced and worry free as you prepare for takeoff. It is pretty much out of the question to get into your zone if you’re; stressed out, worried, afraid, suffering from high anxiety or basically just “trippin”.
These negative attributes will keep you from entering into the zone, flow or bliss. Speaking of which, bliss is another word for zoning as well. It doesn’t matter if you’re an athlete, artist, poet, musician, salesman, house cleaner, doctor, attorney, clerk, janitor, mechanic or any other title. Whatever the project or sport you’re participating in at that time, it has to have your full undivided attention.
Zoning, flow or bliss is the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and “enjoyment in the process of the activity”. According to Csikszentmihalyi, flow (zoning) is completely focused motivation. In zoning, the emotions are not just contained and channeled, but positive, energized and aligned with the task at hand. The hallmark of flow is a feeling of spontaneous joy, even ecstasy while performing a task at hand. Enjoy your flight!
